OUR STORY
From Management Consulting to Social Change
Ellen Muthu (preferred pronouns: she/her/hers), set up Equitea & Coffee at the start of 2020 after four years witnessing and experiencing structural inequality whilst working as a management consultant in Financial Services. Heading up her employer’s ethnicity Employee Resource Group was the first step in a journey to improving workplace representation and inclusion across the UK. She’s since supported organisations across different sectors on a wide range of strategic initiatives. Whatever the undertaking, she is keen to empower people to "do the work", shifting their worldview(s) and imparting useful tools and frameworks to make sure change is impactful and sustainable. Add to this brew a pinch of creativity and a drop of fun and it's a perfect cuppa!
Ellen is versed in race critical theory, systems of oppression and gender parity. Where she can, she chooses to partner with experts in disability, LGBTQ+, trans inclusion and other specialisms in order to make sure that voices from those marginalised communities are being amplified, not spoken over. This work has got to be authentic!

One of the best learning experiences I've had, really well-run and the content was fantastic. I'm currently working on an allies theme as part of our BAME network and this has given me so many ideas and thoughts to take forward with our members. Thank you so much Ellen.

I found your workshop to be incredibly insightful and has challenged me to be honest with my unconscious biases and what to do with them. Thanks Ellen.

I'm really excited the additional conversations you're scheduling this year as part of the Reverse Mentoring programme! Previous schemes did not have this level of focus.

I thought the D&I workshop was really great - exactly the sort of thing the business ought to be doing more widely, particularly the participation element giving the space for people to air their experiences.
